Please join Dr. Carolynn Zonia, Emergency Physician, along with Shirley Guillory, Women's Health Care Nurse Practitioner, Walton County Health Department; and Phyllis Gilbert, an ovarian cancer survivor for an educational program on women's health issues. Hosted by the Democratic Women's Club of Walton County.
Too often serious health issues go undetected until later stages because symptoms can be different for women than for men, and can be mistaken for non life-threatening conditions. This program will discuss some of the different syndrome presentations for women, and then will focus specifically on gynecologic cancers, with valuable information for all women about how to listen to their own bodies and determine when to seek medical attention. There will be informational handouts, and flyers for upcoming events. In addition, we will announce community projects and give away door prizes.
A primary goal of the DWC of Walton County is public service: providing information of general interest to the community and sponsoring projects that benefit the needy. You don't have to be a Democrat or a woman to attend-everyone is welcome! Hope to see you there.
