Florida Minimum Wage Increase Florida Minimum Wage Increase

September 30, 2025 will be here soon and the FL Minimum Wage will increase to $14.00 an hour and tipped employees direct wage increases to $10.98. November 2020 the Florida Amendment 2 $15 Minimum Wage Initiative passed. This amendment increases the state’s minimum wage incrementally until reaching $15 per hour on September 30, 2026.

The increase becomes effective September 30, 2025. Florida minimum wage will increase by $1.00 an hour from $13.00 to $14.00.

Employers of tipped employees must pay the employee a direct wage. The Florida Tip rate of $9.98 will increase to $10.98. The direct wage is calculated as equal to minimum wage ($14.00) minus the 2003 tip credit ($3.02), or a direct wage of $10.98.

Your Payroll Coordinator will update the increase automatically. You will not need to send in a Payroll Change Form.

The final increase on the Florida Amendment 2 $15 Minimum Wage Initiative will be on September 30, 2026 when the hourly wage will be increased to $15 an hour and the tipped employees’ direct wage will be $11.98.

Once the new minimum wage poster is available, it will be sent to you by your Payroll Coordinator. It is important that Florida businesses display Federal and State of Florida employment law posters where they can be easily viewed by employees.
